Learning from Apraxia

Happy Monday, friends!

I am lucky enough to be over on Columbia Mom sharing about navigating Brooks’ Apraxia and what I’ve learned over the past few years. You can read the whole post here.

Even though most of you will never really need to know the ins and outs of Apraxia, I think you’ll still be able to take something away from our experience. While I have learned a lot about speech development, I’ve learned even more about advocating for my children and finding the right support system.

Most importantly, I’m learning to let go of what I can’t control and concentrate on the here and now. It’s not always easy, and I’m definitely a work in progress, but just like with Brooks’ speech, I’m trying to take things one day at a time.
